Refund policy
Last updated: 10 June 2026
We want you to be completely satisfied with your TradeKit purchase. This policy covers all orders placed through tradekittools.com and is provided by TradeKit Ltd, Auckland, New Zealand.
New Zealand Customers: Consumer Guarantees Act 1993
Your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA) and the Fair Trading Act 1986 are fully protected. Nothing in this policy limits or excludes these statutory rights. If a product you receive is faulty, not fit for purpose, or does not match its description, you are entitled to a remedy under the CGA. These guarantees apply for a reasonable period given the nature and price of the product, and are not limited to any set number of days. If something goes wrong, please contact us as soon as possible so we can put it right.
Australian Customers: Australian Consumer Law
If you purchase from us in Australia, our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Nothing in this policy limits or excludes these rights.
Pre-Orders
Some TradeKit products are sold on a pre-order basis, with payment taken at checkout and an estimated dispatch date shown on the product page.
- You may cancel a pre-order at any time before dispatch for a full refund to your original payment method. Just email us with your order number.
- Estimated dispatch dates are our best estimate and may change due to manufacturing or freight delays. If the estimated dispatch date for your order changes materially, we will notify you by email and you may choose to keep your order or cancel it for a full refund.
- Once a pre-order ships, it is treated like any other order under this policy, and the change of mind period below starts from the date of delivery.
TradeKit Warranty
All TradeKit tools are covered by a 12-month warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, starting from the date of delivery. This warranty covers normal trade use and does not cover fair wear and tear, consumable components, misuse, modification, or damage caused by use outside the product's intended purpose. This warranty is in addition to, and does not limit, your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Australian Consumer Law. To make a warranty claim, email us with your order number, a description of the fault, and photos or video.
Change of Mind Returns
We accept change of mind returns within 14 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in original condition, in original undamaged packaging, and accompanied by proof of purchase. The following conditions apply:
- Return shipping costs for change of mind returns are the responsibility of the customer.
- Original shipping charges are not refunded on change of mind returns.
- For bundled products, if you return part of a bundle, your refund will be calculated using the bundle's discounted pricing, not the full individual product prices.
- Once we receive and inspect the item, we will process your refund within 5 business days to your original payment method.
If you would prefer an exchange rather than a refund, let us know when you contact us and we will arrange it where stock allows.
Faulty or Damaged Items
If your item arrives damaged or develops a fault, contact us at ryan@tradekittools.com with photos and your order number. We will cover return shipping costs and offer a repair, replacement, or full refund at your choice.
Customers in Other Countries
Orders shipped outside New Zealand and Australia are subject to the laws of New Zealand. We will resolve any genuine product fault or damage in transit in line with this policy. Customs duties, taxes, and return shipping costs for international change of mind returns are the customer's responsibility.
Non-Returnable Items
We are unable to accept change of mind returns for items that have been used, modified, or damaged after delivery; items returned without original packaging; or orders returned after 14 days without prior authorisation. This does not affect your rights in relation to faulty goods under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Australian Consumer Law, or the TradeKit Warranty.
How to Start a Return
Email ryan@tradekittools.com with your order number, the reason for your return, and photos (for damaged or faulty items). We will respond within 1-2 business days with return instructions.
